Training Walks

Well, it's been over a month since my last post. Guest what? Training hasn't started.  I've been working to get the garden in order and I'm just about at the point where I feel comfortable letting go of additional landscaping (for now) and focusing only on maintenance.  Will post some before and after pictures soon.  This has been a 3 year labor of love.  However, it has also been a great stress/grief reliever and learning experience.

Today (Sunday), working to finish off some yard detailing and next week will be focused on vegetable garden clean out (from the overgrown weeds), amending the soil, prepping the bedding areas, repairing the irrigation and planting.  Then, I'll feel comfortable focusing more time on training walks.

Have been looking at possible points of interest along the Portuguese route and deciding what stops are in and which are out.  The plan is to do some tourist stuff before beginning the Camino and more tourist stuff/time with friends, after the Camino.  The image above, is of the Mira de Aire Caves http://liveportugal.pt/en/mira-de-aire-caves/ .  This will be one of my tourist stops, prior to beginning the Camino.

The best thing about doing the Camino a second time, I already have nearly everything I need and I also know, I won't need to take as much stuff as the first time.  Therefore, an even lighter backpack.
