Today, we began the ascent to Cruce de Ferro (The Iron Cross). This is a very large cross atop a post, on top of a steep hill (the highest point on the Camino). Pilgrims bring a rock from home and carry it with them throughout their journey along the Camino. This is the spot where the rock is left. People sometimes write messages on their rocks, others say a prayer and some do both.
Again, we didn't want to over do it. So, once again, we only walked about 8 miles. We are 75% of the way up the hill. Tomorrow morning, we'll leave early and make the remainder of the climb.
This rooster was really ruling the roost
This renaissance themed restaurant, Gaia, was an unexpected surprise in Foncebadon

There is rain forecast for the afternoon. If we get an early start, we make get most of the way down the mountain, before it rains.
